The Central East District of Christian Horizons consists of communities in the Four Counties area that runs south to Lake Ontario, north to Haliburton, east to Port Hope and west to Trenton. We provide services and supports to people with developmental disabilities in the communities of Peterborough, Port Hope, Cobourg and Lindsay.

Christian Horizons, with its District office situated in Peterborough, provides services to adults with developmental disabilities through 18 residential group homes, two family homes, one Supported Independent Living program and two day programs.

Our purpose is to contribute to each individual’s quality of life (emotionally, intellectually, physically, socially and spiritually) for maximum fulfillment. As a District we are committed to providing supports that are person centered. Our staff assists individuals to define and pursue their own dreams and goals to experience self-determination, inclusion and the pursuit of personal growth. With several area community colleges offering diplomas in our field of service we feel fortunate to have the quality of staff we do serving in our programs.

The Central East District embraces and shares the unconditional love and hope that Christ provides. We desire to remain faithful, strong and focused to maintain what we have and to face with joy growth and the challenges of tomorrow.
